The Ultimate Guide to Landing Page Builders (Review & Comparison, Hands-on)

Landing page builders

(This post may contain affiliate links. For more information, see my disclosure policy.)

In this article I will compare the best landing page builders currently available on the world wide webs. In other words, you will find out what are the best tools to create a sales page, squeeze page, webinar page or any other kind of landing page.

It is going to be the clash of the titans, comparing Thrive Content Builder, Optimize Press 2.0, ClickFunnels, Megaphone by Kajabi, InstaBuilder 2.0, Landingi, 1 Minute Sites, Lander, FusionHQ and Instapages. More to come soon!

Somewhere down the line I will also add LeadPages review since they seem to be the most popular right now, but I know that many of you are looking for LeadPages alternatives. This article is for you guys. Click here to vote for the tool you would like me to review next.

It’s about to get really exciting, are you ready to jump in? Let’s go and see which one is the best for you and your business.

Must-have elements of every landing page

Prior to writing this article I have looked over 500 landing pages, including sales pages and squeeze pages. When you examine that huge number of websites, you begin to see a pattern.

That pattern allowed me to create a list of page elements from which most landing pages are made of these days. Let’s call it the perfect landing page parameters.

Of course there isn’t such a thing as a perfect landing page (otherwise everyone would have the same looking landing page), but for the purpose of this article I will pretend there is.

Elements used on a perfect sales page

The elements below are, in my opinion, used on 99% landing pages out there, in one way or another.

  • Page sections in different background colors (full width) – Mostly in white and light grey color, with an exception when something really important is needed to be shown, then some stronger background color is used
  • Custom background images – 100% of times used at the top of a landing page and often in 1 or 2 other full width page sections of the landing page
  • Video element
  • Multiple column areas – usually two columns (most often used) but occasionally even three or more columns
  • Opt-in (newsletter) form – For subscribing to newsletter list or as a first step of registration
  • FAQ section
  • Testimonials section
  • Bullet (or other style) list
  • Menu / navigation

That are most common elements of each landing page, some have more, some have less.

Example of a perfect sales page (designed by me)

By following the formula discovered above I have created a “perfect” sales page example which contains all the most used elements found on many sales pages.

I have created this page for a made up business company called BizWiz which does business consulting and management.

Although maybe not the prettiest landing page ever, it will for sure serve its purpose of testing the abilities of each landing page builder and page editors in this review.

Important note: Landing page design is just one part of a good landing page, and not the whole story. Other important parts are page copy, whole bunch of conversion rate optimization tricks and a lot A/B testing.

In this article I will concentrate only on design elements (design possibilities) of each landing page builder, the ease of use and the number of templates available. For better understanding of what each tool offers I suggest that you take a look at their sales page.

The comparison chart

Let’s start with a nice comparison chart, where you can compare all the features and see who’s missing out and who is winning. Below the chart you can read in more details about each landing page builder and see every tool in action in my video review.

Landing page builders comparison

*I’ve tried each and every of the plugins mentioned below for the purpose of of this article. This isn’t just some quick roundup repeating what you can see by yourself on their landing pages, this is the real deal. And btw better looking comparison chart coming soon 🙂

With each software I will try to create the landing page from the image I posted few paragraphs above. Design of the landing page was done by me, and it contains all the most important elements (IMHO) often find on sales pages around the world.

Note: Some (most) of the links in this article are affiliate links, which means if you decide to buy some of the mentioned tools I will get a small percentage of the sale as a reward. However, that will not affect my review nor will I say that every tool is great and without flaws. You will get my honest opinion and that won’t affect my reviews in any way. If there is something wrong or bad with any tool I review here I will mention it in the article or in my videos.

Before buying anything take a good luck at their sales page, try them if they offer a trial and even contact their support if there is something else you would like to know. Feel free to ask me any questions in the comments area below this article, I will help you if I can.

Thrive Content Builder (Landing Pages) review

I will start with the tool I use personally at the moment of writing this article, Thrive Content Builder, which is a product of Thrive Themes (also check my Thrive Leads review – which is their list building plugin, the best you can find). It’s a nice WordPress plugin which, at its core, helps you to create any kind of page with drag and drop visual editor.

However, Thrive Content Builder also comes with Landing Pages (check them below) included within the plugin, so that you can use their pre made templates for any kind of landing pages you like.

***Important: Now you have over 100 landing page templates available for Thrive Content Builder, check them out on The Landing Factory – the landing page templates marketplace for Thrive Content Builder! ***

Expert’s quote:

NEIL PATEL/PORTRAIT ON WHITE BACKGROUND 040315“Every online business has a specific reason why they need a landing page, but here it is in a nutshell: you need a landing page to achieve a particular goal, whether that’s building your brand, growing your email list or making a profit.” – Neil Patel, Quicksprout

You can see one live example of a page built with Thrive Content Builder on which was built from scratch. Another example can be viewed in the video below.

Other pages I’ve created with Thrive Content Builder:

In the video I have created both, a sales page and a squeeze page. In later videos I have ditched the squeeze page part (if you can create a sales page with it, a simple squeeze page won’t be a problem). That’s way this video is a bit longer than the others.

Take a look at the video if you want to see how did the whole process go, from start to finish. The video is long, over 2h, but you can see everything in action and remove any doubts you might have for Thrive Content Builder.

P.S. I suggest watching the video in HD and on a full screen.

Now that you have watched the video, check my comments below and see what I liked about Thrive Content Builder and what needs improvements.

What’s good about it:

  • It’ a WordPress plugin – If you are using WordPress this is great, since it won’t mess up with your theme and you can create landing pages without having to change your theme.
  • Huge number of options – TCB has it all, and when I say all I mean EVERYTHING you might need for your landing pages, here are some cool features: credit card icons, content revealer, testimonials, call to action (CTA) elements, styled lists, pricing tables, countdown timers, toggle, tabs etc. etc.
  • Google Fonts integration – You truly appreciate this feature when you don’t have it, because it’s a complete life saver. Right typography can make your landing page stand out, and here you have the option to use some of the hundreds available Google Fonts
  • Advance element styling – The number of styling options with TCB is out of this world, I think I didn’t even show half of it in the video. You can change and style every piece of your page, all drag’n’drop.
  • Full HTML/CSS access – This will be important for some of you. If you need it, you have the ability to see and change complete HTML / CSS of your page.
  • Speed – Thrive Content Builder is extra fast, there’s no lag and everything happens and changes instantly.

What could be better:

  • Changing margin and padding values – It’s a bit annoying having to type in all the values of margins and paddings, it would be better to have some kind of drag and drop slider to change the values, it would be a lot faster
  • Form styling – I had some troubles (check the video) with the form styling and couldn’t get the exact look I was aiming for.
  • Background image styling – For some reason my background image was stretched too much. Although I got help from support quickly and solved my issue, those things should not be happening.
  • Anchor links in the menu – If you want to use the menu on your page you need to create it in the WordPress menu option, which is logical. But for 1-page landing pages where I would just need to use links from the menu to jump to certain sections of the page (anchor links) there should be some easier solution, right within the Thrive Content Builder
  • Number of templates – It would be great if TCB would have at least double the number of templates they have now (at the moment of writing this article). Although they have templates in the same style for whole funnels (for example: squeeze page + confirmation page + thank you page + download page and similar), I still think that there should be at least 10-20 more different template styles.

This is for you if…

You need a powerful WordPress landing page builder for a reasonable price. If you want to style and customize everything and leave no stones unturned, then Thrive Content Builder is for you. It comes with a LOT of features and will even satisfy the most advanced users.

I have made a screenshot of each and every landing page template that comes with Thrive Content Builder and put it in a nice downloadable zip file. Please use one of the sharing options to get access to it, thank you.

You can get Thrive Content Builder for: $59 – $240

P.S. Recommendation, it’s better to buy Thrive Themes membership, that way you get Thrive Content Builder, Thrive Leads (the best WP optin plugin) and other Thrive themes and plugins. Check the offer here.

Optimize Press 2.0 review

Is there anyone who hasn’t heard for Optimize Press yet? I didn’t think so 🙂 Optimize Press is one of the oldest marketing tools I know, the first came out over 5 years ago if I am right. Then, they launched a second version like 3 years ago which was a complete change and a lot more powerful than the OP1.

Optimize Press 2.0 (or shorter, OP2) isn’t just a landing page builder. It’s a complete solution for creation of any kind of landing pages, product launch funnels, membership sites, regular blog sites and even webinar registration pages.

It comes as both WordPress plugin and theme, so you can choose your pick. It has really a lot to offer (check the first 10 minutes of my video review) and has some really cool and unique features.

Expert’s quote:

brian-dean“If you’re serious about conversions, your landing pages have to give visitors ONE or TWO options. Every additional option eats away at your page’s conversions.” – Brian Dean, Backlinko

Today we are going to cover just Optimize Press 2.0 landing page builder/editor, so for other things related to OP2 make sure to check their homepage.

To see how did Optimize Press do with my own sales page take a look at my video review below.

P.S. Make sure to watch in HD and in a full screen mode for the best experience.

Now let’s dissect that whole video experience into text, and see what does OP2 do very well and in which fields does it need improvements.

What’s good about it:

  • A lot of page elements – There’s really a bunch of page elements which you can add to your page, many of them have multiple premade looks (templates) which is really cool and can be handy.
  • Cool looking templates – Nice selection of templates which all marketers will love.
  • Autosave – OP2 will autosave your page every 5 minutes and store last 10 revisions.

What could be better:

  • Style editor not really live – This one is really bad. So, to change any styling on any element you get a popup window where you change the settings, and then you have to click on insert/ok button to make to changes and then you can see what have you done. So basically you are doing the styling and the changes without being able to see the effect of those changes. That way you have to go back and make another change and repeat that stuff countless times until you are satisfied with the results. Very time consuming and frustrating if you ask me.
  • Margins and padding – Some elements don’t have margins and it is sometimes hard to get a desired look when you try to position elements exactly where you want to.
  • No undo/redo button – If you make a mistake you need to go to revisions and choose previously saved revision or fix your mistake. Btw revisions setting seem to be buggy at times.
  • Different look of page in editing mode – Your page might look different in editing mode and vice versa, that’s why it is important to preview your page regularly. This is mostly related to spacings between elements and margin/padding issues.
  • Incompatibility with other plugins and themes – You can check the list here but in my experience that list is even bigger.

This is for you if…

You need a complete set of marketing tools and a membership feature, and if you are really patient and tech savvy. It can also be useful if you would like to use their templates and not build your site from scratch.

However if you are looking for an easy and fast landing page creation experience you might skip this. Before you go take a look at the template designs below, maybe you’ll find something interesting.

I have made a screenshot of each and every landing page template that comes with Optimize Press 2.0 and put it in a nice downloadable zip file. Please use one of the sharing options to get access to it, thank you.

You can get Optimize Press 2.0 for $97 – $297.

InstaBuilder 2 review

InstaBuilder is another WordPress plugin which released its second (improved) version somewhere around the end of 2014. or beginning of 2015. It’s certainly packed with a lot of features, it’s available for one time payment and they even offer a HTML version/export of pages.

Besides their landing page builder they offer over 100 templates, some cool list building features like content lockers and 2-step optins, integrated image editor, a lot of graphic templates, countdown timers, options to publish the page on Facebook, integrations with a lot of other marketing tools and much much more. Make sure to check their homepage for more info.

Expert’s quote:

peep-laja-conversionxl“Your landing page pretty much determines the success of your ad campaign. Good landing page = good ROI. Crappy landing page and you have just (needlessly) wasted your money.” – Peep Laja, ConversionXL

When you buy InstaBuilder 2 you also get access to a lot of training materials, related to WordPress, how to get more traffic, some extra image packs to download and some more cool things (check my video to see it all).

In the video below you will get an opportunity so see a closer look in InstaBuilder members area and you will get to see how does their page editor functions. To learn more about other features except their page builder check their sales page.

Let’s jump to the video…

P.S. Make sure to watch in HD and in a full screen mode for the best experience.

I hope you enjoyed the video, now let’s see what’s good and what’s bad about InstaBuilder landing page creator tool.

What’s good about it:

  • Combo elements – Prebuilt page elements like text+image, fancy optins, product box and other stuff which could possibly save time
  • Fast learning curve – All functions are really simple and obvious, so even beginners will learn how to use InstaBuilder really fast.
  • Image editing functions – This is unique as far as I know, although I didn’t try it, there’s a possibility to edit images within the InstaBuilder if you need it.

What could be better:

  • Slow duplication process – After some time, or better said, as your landing page grows larger duplication process take more time (even a few seconds) which may be annoying.
  • Template designs – In my opinion they could be nicer (download them below and see for yourself)
  • No margin or padding for image and text elements – There’s no possibility to add margins or padding to text elements or images which is not really good and it can create trouble sometimes. Also, sometimes there’s an extra space around images when placed in multiple column elements which cannot be removed.
  • No possibility to make certain page sections wider – You can set the width of your content area, but there is no possibility to change width of certain page sections. Not a big deal most of the time but it would be useful sometimes.
  • Limited opt-in element styling – Unfortunately there’s not much styling available for the optin element, which is also an issue with many other page builders.

This is for you if…

You want a WordPress plugin with possibility to create even HTML pages, pay one time instead of monthly payments and if you don’t mind few missing styling options here and there. Also, if you need some integrated opt-in features.

I have made a screenshot of each and every landing page template that comes with InstaBuilder 2 and put it in a nice downloadable zip file. Please use one of the sharing options to get access to it, thank you.

You can get Instabuilder 2.0 for $77 – $197.

Megaphone (by Kajabi) review

If you didn’t hear about Kajabi before, well, now is the right time. They offer a wide range of really cool marketing tools, and Megaphone is one of them. When you see that Frank Kern (a marketing genius that knows his stuff) uses it, you can assume that they are really worth to take a closer look at.

Honestly I expected more from Megaphone, or maybe to be more complex tool, but it is actually simple. Although it has some nice features it doesn’t allow too much editing or changing and it is actually perfect for beginners.

Expert’s quote:

oligardner“An effective landing page uses visual design to focus your attention on what’s important, and clarity of communication to get your message across quickly and easily.” – Oli Gardner, Unbounce

With Megaphone by Kajabi you can’t create your landing page from scratch nor change everything you would like completely, rather you just have the possibility the edit existing templates.

My video review below is short since I didn’t create my sales page from scratch (I couldn’t) but it will give you a quick closer look of Megaphone options.

Also, you have the possibility to try Megaphone by Kajabi for free for a whole month if you register through my link (limited to first 50 people), and use this promo code: “drazen_1mo” thanks for that Kajabi team.

P.S. Make sure to watch in HD and in a full screen mode for the best experience.

What’s good about it:

  • Easy customizations – If you want to change the colors, links or texts it is very easy and simple to do and perfect for beginners.
  • Nice templates – They offer over 100 templates which are very well designed (download them below to see for yourself)

What could be better:

  • No possibility to make a page from scratch – Nor the possibility to add new elements or drastically change the whole look of the page template.

This is for you if…

You are beginner with bad technical skills and you don’t want to waste to much time by designing your own sales pages from scratch. Their support is also very fast and friendly and will help you with everything you might need.

I have made a screenshot of each and every landing page template that comes with Megaphone by Kajabi and put it in a nice downloadable zip file. Please use one of the sharing options to get access to it, thank you.

FusionHQ review

FusionHQ is one of the pioneers in this group, a really powerful set of marketing tools, which will help you to create marketing landing pages, funnels, membership sites, complete business solutions and even help you sell your products easily with their integrated affiliate possibility.

Although on their homepage you can see in the title FusionHQ v2 they are a bit outdated. One more thing I find odd, is that I can’t seem to find their home page link when searching for them on Google.

Expert’s quote:

dan-norris“Build more trust on your website with social proof and by having a great design. If your design is good then people will trust the site more and it looks less like something thrown together.” – Dan Norris, WP Curve

This is actually the only product I can’t recommend to anyone, at least not from the perspective of their page builder usefulness. This is also the only video review I finished before completing my sales page, it was just too damn complicated to use.

Check the video below and see for yourself.

P.P. S. They have some new tool called Send.Fish if you want to check it out.

P.S. Make sure to watch in HD and in a full screen mode for the best experience.

What’s good about it:

  • Upload images into folders – You are able to upload images into folders, that way you can easily find what you need if you create multiple pages. There are also some already uploaded images.
  • Precreated disclaimer pages – Some pages like disclaimers, TOS, contact and other pages are pre created and put into footer.
  • A lot of fonts – There are quite number of fonts to use, although no possibility to use Google Fonts.

What could be better:

  • No undo/redo button – If you mess things up, there’s no way to go back easily.
  • Complicated as hell – Really, really complicated interface and confusing too. The editing view looks different then the preview, columns are hard to style (with paddings and margins), it is confusing on how to use and add page sections
  • No margins/paddings – There’s an option for spacing settings with premade values, but that’s it.

This is for you if…

You need an integrated affiliate features and some really advanced options, and if you know a FusionHQ expert who could create a page for you. Otherwise, I wouldn’t recommend it.

You can get FusionHQ for $97 – $497 per month.

Instapage review

Now this is the tool I was really excited to test and review. Instapage is one of the most popular landing page builders, they are advertising heavily everywhere, so there’s a good chance you heard about them.

You can try them for free also, which I did. They seem really simple to use with a straightforward interface, and as it seems, they really are.

Expert’s quote:

sujan“Remove all distractions from your landing page. Make it as clean and simple as you can while still providing all the information a visitor needs in order to trust you enough to make the decision to convert. Don’t use flashy animations or worthless stock photos. Just get to the point.” – Sujan Patel, ContentMarketer

Instapage also has a WordPress plugin if you want to use their landing pages on your WordPress powered website, A/B testing tools and 20+ various integrations with other marketing tools.

Honestly, this was the fastest, easiest to use landing page builder I have tried so far. Get the full experience of Instapage by trying it yourself or watch me doing it in my Instapage video review below.

P.S. Make sure to watch in HD and in a full screen mode for the best experience.

What’s good about it:

  • Beautiful templates – A very large number of beautifully designed templates for different niches.
  • Clean interface – The cleanest and simplest interface I have seen so far, yet all the options are there + they have a nice grid for orientation.
  • Easy change of page section height – Just drag and drop your page sections to the desired height.
  • Drag n drop elements wherever you want – No messing with margins and paddings, just drag and drop your element wherever you want on your page.
  • Easy linking to page sections – If you want to link to certain page elements it is as easy as point and click, literally.
  • Speed – It is ultra fast, the fastest landing page builder I have tested so far. Everything goes smoothly as well.

What could be better:

  • No possibility to put elements outside of the container area – All elements must be inside the container area (which is 960px), if you want to put it outside you unfortunately can’t.
  • No Google Fonts – A limited number of font styles and no Google fonts unfortunately.
  • No column elements – Although it is actually not necessary because you can drag and drop each element wherever you want, it is easier to align elements when you have columns, but certainly not a deal breaker.
  • No list element – There is no pre made list element which will allow you to easily add a some kind of custom bulleted or other list, just a normal regular Word-like list.
  • Optin element styling – It could be better, it has limited styling options but not bad.
  • Optin form types – It would be great to have popups and 2-step and other optin forms available.

This is for you if…

You don’t mind paying a monthly price and don’t want to use popup forms heavily on your page, otherwise I highly recommend it.

I have made a screenshot of each and every landing page template that comes with Instapage and put it in a nice downloadable zip file. Please use one of the sharing options to get access to it, thank you.

Lander review

Lander is another landing page marketing tool I haven’t heard until doing the research for this article. It certainly has a very nicely designed home page which quickly explains what Lander is all about.

Lander also has some interesting integration options like the ability to connect with Zapier (automation service) and even Salesforce and Marketo.

Expert’s quote:

Marc Kohlbrugge“Make use of the AIDA model. Attention. Interest. Desire. Action. Use an intriguing image or screenshot with a great headline that grabs people’s attention. One sentence that makes them stop and look. Now you’ve got their attention get them interested. Explain how your product will make their lives better. Don’t describe your product features, tell them how their life, whether its personal or professional, gets better if they use your product.” – Marc Köhlbrugge, BetaList

It’s main advantages are a huge number of very well designed templates, easy to use page editor (builder) and an option to use Google fonts.

Is Lander as good as it seems to be, find out in my video review below.

P.S. Make sure to watch in HD and in a full screen mode for the best experience.

Now let’s put all the good and bad things on paper and get to know Lander a bit better.

What’s good about it:

  • Google fonts – That’s certainly a plus, although I couldn’t find that option while testing the video, I’m sure that was just my mistake.
  • Guides – Seems like a great feature although I couldn’t make it to show?
  • PayPal integration
  • Everything is drag and drop – No problems with margins and paddings.
  • Advanced link settings – A lot of options related to link possibilities, although maybe too advanced for a regular user.
  • Beautiful templates – And a lot to choose from too

What could be better:

  • Auto resizing images – For some reason, when inserting images, they are automatically shown smaller and you have to manually restore them to the original size, not sure why does that happen.
  • Text editing / styling – When editing or styling text, the styling options are shown at the bottom of the page in a separate box, which is kinda strange and was a bit distracting to me, taking me some time to get use to it.
  • No page section element – I couldn’t find a page section element with Lander, which would allow me to use different background colors, but it would be useful to have. I used box element instead, although that’s not very handy.
  • Alignment issues – It was hard for me to align all the elements properly since I could turn on the guidelines.
  • Limited opt-in styling – As with many other landing page builders, Lander also has a bit limited styling of optin forms.

This is for you if…

You need a simple and effective landing page builder with cool integration options like Zapier and other. Also, if you don’t mind paying the monthly price.

I have made a screenshot of each and every landing page template that comes with Lander and put it in a nice downloadable zip file. Please use one of the sharing options to get access to it, thank you.

ClickFunnels review

I know my ClickFunnels review will be interested to so many of you, since it looks like one really amazing set of marketing tools. I was also happy to try them out for the first time, but you will have to read below and/or watch the video to see were I impressed or not.

ClickFunnels got a lot of attention because they are claiming that they are better than LeadPages and OptimizePress 2.0 which are one of the most popular and most used marketing tools out there. They even have a comparison chart where they show their advantages against those two.

Expert’s quote:

derek-halpern“The #1 conversion killer in your web design is clutter! The simple solution is to DITCH the baggage, and focus on what you NEED visitors to do to grow your business.” – Derek Halpern, Social Triggers

is more than just a page builder, it’s a complete funnels builder for your squeeze (opt-in) pages, sales pages, webinar pages and even membership pages.

To learn more about them make sure to visit their homepage and see what else do they offer.

In this article you will find out and see how easy/hard is to use their page builder, what are the good sides and the bad sides, and you also have the opportunity to download and see all of their templates (scroll a bit down).

P.S. Make sure to watch in HD and in a full screen mode for the best experience.

What’s good about it:

  • Templates – Huge number of available templates (download them below)
  • Some cool editor functions – The one I really liked was the ability to move whole sections of page very easily with drag and drop function, there are some more cool functions like nice FAQ elements and styled list element (check the video)
  • Powerful styling options – A lot of editing and styling options available for use, even some not found with other landing page builders reviewed here. On the other hand some things are missing (check below).
  • Highly editable input form – Unlike many other landing page builder, ClickFunnels really gave us full control of optin form styling.

What could be better:

  • No blank templates – Apparently you can’t make your website from scratch and use a blank template to start with
  • Takes a bit of time to figure it out – Not really that bad thing, since it has a lot of options, but sometimes page builder can get a bit confusing and will take you some time to figure it out. Still, if you ask me, things can always be a bit even simpler and easier to use.
  • No Google fonts – ClickFunnels should absolutely have Google fonts in their page builder if they want to be the best, or, one of the best landing page and marketing funnel creating tools.
  • Can’t create columns within columns – This feature could be handy in some situations but unfortunately that’s not possible to do (check the video for better understanding)

This is for you if…

You need a complete and powerful funnel and page builder with a lot of beautiful templates, integration options and some extra features not found elsewhere.

I have made a screenshot of each and every landing page template that comes with ClickFunnels and put it in a nice downloadable zip file. Please use one of the sharing options to get access to it, thank you.

Landingi review

Landingi, what a funny name – that was my first thought when I first ran into it. Probably because of that same reason I thought this was some lame, newbie tool with poor selection of templates and even worse page edit. Boy, I couldn’t have been more wrong.

Behind that interesting name Landingi has over 100 beautifully designed templates for various niches and a really simple but powerful page builder.

Expert’s quote:

brian-clark“Landing pages live or die by the quality of the headline. It’s your two-second chance to overcome the swift and brutal attention filters we’ve developed due to information overload and poorly-matched promises.” – Brian Clark, Copyblogger

Sometime the simplest things are the best and I believe that’s the case with Landingi. One other thing good to mention, Landingi is really cheap comparing to others, but then again, it all depends on what do you need for your business. Make sure to check their homepage to see everything they have to offer.

To learn more about Landingi watch the video below, download their templates for free (scroll a bit down) and see what did I find good about it, and see what things could be done better.

P.S. Make sure to watch in HD and in a full screen mode for the best experience.

What’s good about it:

  • Templates organized by niche and color – This is the first time I am seeing this, they have over 100 beautiful templates which are organized by niches like health, marketing, tourism, sports etc. and even by color too! I just love that. Download all of their templates below for free and see for yourself.
  • Positioning of elements – You can simply drag and drop any element wherever you want on your page, without manually changing margins or padding of the elements, which is great.
  • Ease of use – Landingi is really fast and easy to use, no frustration while building your pages and that’s awesome.

What could be better:

  • Limited number of fonts – Although there are quite a few fonts available and some well known fonts too, having Google fonts would be better.
  • Missing separator / line element – Not a crucial thing to have, but sometimes it can be handy to have.
  • Optin form styling – Like with many other landing page builders reviewed here I couldn’t get the perfect look I wanted to, but it certainly wasn’t a deal breaker.

This is for you if…

You need one great landing page editor, easy to use and very fast, with a bunch of great looking templates and for a really affordable monthly price.

I have made a screenshot of each and every landing page template that comes with Landingi and put it in a nice downloadable zip file. Please use one of the sharing options to get access to it, thank you.

Templates coming soon…

You can get Landingi for $0 – $299 per month.

1 Minute Sites review

I was a bit rough towards 1 Minute Sites in my video review, simply because I thought they were like a regular landing page builder, which they aren’t. They are called 1 Minute Sites for a reason, because they allow you to create your landing pages really fast but with limited customizing functions.

With 1 Minute Sites you can create your sales pages by using one of their templates, but you can’t create your page from scratch nor add new elements to the page.

This is perfect for beginners who just want to pick one of the available templates, change the colors, text and images and publish their pages as soon as possible.

Expert’s quote:

brianmassey“Start with a landing page. Blank is preferred. Add an offer and some way to take action, a button or form is typical. To overcome the abandonment, slather on persuasive copy. Show the product with an image. Add some trust symbols, sprinkle in some proof, and, voila! You have a landing page.” – Brian Massey, ConversionScientist

For all that reasons I wasn’t able to recreate my sales page with 1 Minute Sites and that’s why my review video below is really short comparing to others too.

Nevertheless check the video and my impressions to get to know 1 Minute Sites a bit better.

P.S. Make sure to watch in HD and in a full screen mode for the best experience.

What’s good about it:

  • Templates – They have a nice selection of templates, over 100 templates
  • Add-ons – A lot of addons available, some for lead capturing, even integration with Go-to webinar, add.on for launches and few more.
  • Easy to use for beginners

What could be better:

  • Complete page builder – It would be great if 1 Minute Sites would have a complete page builder which would allow us to create completely customized landing pages but I guess that’s not what they are aiming for anyway.

This is for you if…

You like to have a lot of templates to choose from and if you need to make your sales pages quickly without doing too much editing.

I have made a screenshot of each and every landing page template that comes with 1 Minute Sites and put it in a nice downloadable zip file. Please use one of the sharing options to get access to it, thank you.

The verdict

verdictYou are probably like, ok Drazen, tell me which one is the best, which one should I use? That’s not very easy to do unfortunately, but I will give you some guidelines.

First, you have to know what’s your budget, that’s the first thing you will consider when looking at all of these tools. Some of them offer monthly payments, some of them one time payments, but in the end it all depends on what can you afford to buy.

If money is not a problem then still you have to decide whether you would prefer 1 time payments or monthly payments. After that you have to see which landing page builder is suitable for your business needs. Because my review here covers only the page editor / page builder, and all of these tools offer much more than that. Make sure to check on their home pages to see what else do they have to offer.

Next, check their templates. I have given you the possibility to download and preview all the templates each tool has to offer before you buy it. If that’s important to you go ahead and see which templates you like the most.

This is also very important to some of you, do you need your landing page builder to be a WordPress plugin or can it be a standalone, self hosted tool?

Landing page builders comparison

But ok, if you ask me, and this is completely my personal opinion and my personal favorites. If you want a one time payment landing page builder which is also a WordPress plugin, go with the Thrive Content Builder (or actually the whole Thrive Theme membership package, a bit more expensive but with a lot more value). Also, don’t forget that now you have over 100 extra landing page templates available at The Landing Factory – landing page marketplace for Thrive Content Builder.

If you don’t mind paying monthly and it doesn’t have to be a WordPress plugin, then I would choose Instapage or Landingi, but please check other page builders I have reviewed here too.

Again, this is just my opinion and what I would choose if I were you. But don’t listen to me, go and see for yourself which tool suits your business needs the best. My recommendations are based only on page builder use/experience, and like I said, it’s not all about just that, each tool offers a lot more.

Vote for the next review

At the moment of release of this article, there are only 10 landing page builders reviewed. Of course that’s not the whole story and there are some more great tools waiting to be tested.

That’s where you come in. I will eventually test all these tools but you have the chance to decide which one should I review next.

This is the list of tools I have selected to be included in this review in the future. If you know some other not mentioned here, feel free to mention them in the comments:

  • 10 Minute Funnels – Seems like an amazing marketing solution, can’t wait to try it out.
  • PageWiz – I hear some good things about it from users, seems interesting.
  • Landing Page Monkey – Funny name, a WordPress plugin, also pretty cheap but yet to be determined how good is it.
  • WP Profit Builder – Another WordPress plugin, pretty popular too, but may be outdated, we’ll see when I test it out.
  • LeadPages – One of the leaders in landing page builders business, very powerful and very popular, comes with a hefty price too.
  • KickOffLabs – Not familiar with this one, but can’t wait to see what is it all about.
  • Unbounce – Oli and the guys are marketing pro’s and I’m sure their page builder is awesome as well.
  • PageDesigner – Just recently launched, what do you think?
  • Your favorite – Not mentioned in this list? Make sure to give me a hint in the comments.

Take a quick look at each of these, see which one seems like a good fit to you and vote below. I will leave this survey here for a couple of weeks before (depending on the number of votes) I go and start reviewing other tools. Make sure to hop on my list to be notified when I update this article.

Make a difference, vote here!

Which landing page builder should I review next?

Thank you, Drazen, for such an extensive review. Do you have any updates since on Your Verdict? Thanks, Audie

    • Drazen PrastaloSep 22,2016 at 1:28 AM

My verdict is still the same, Thrive is the way to go if you ask me. But of course there could be some other tools which are more suitable for you and your business.

  • Ben PinesJul 19,2016 at 1:16 PM

Drazen, what do you think of our page builder: It’s free and open source

    • Drazen PrastaloSep 22,2016 at 1:58 AM

Hi Ben, it certainly looks interesting. I actually tried it for like 5 minutes, it has potential but it needs more tuning up. One thing I noticed is that there is no blank template, or a way to create a landing page without theme’s header and footer section, at least I didn’t find it. In any case good job, and kudos to you for making something completely free 🙂

  • sainyJun 30,2016 at 10:31 PM

    Hey Drazen
I’m looking for a sales funnel builder that I can integrate with Thrive Themes. CF seems the obvious choice. But cant integrate with any other page builder. Can you recommend any please?

    • Drazen PrastaloSep 22,2016 at 2:00 AM

Hey Sainy, you don’t need both, use either Thrive or Click Funnels.

  • WilliamDec 31,2015 at 1:34 PM

I’m curious to see what you think of Sean Donahoe’s WP Profit Builder; It’s bot price going for it, as a 1 time cost of $67. I have it but haven’t actually used it yet.

    • Drazen PrastaloDec 31,2015 at 2:56 PM

Hey William, I will review WP Profit Builder soon yes. I see a lot of people talking about which makes me interested in trying it out.

Although since the tool is made by an internet marketer I do not know how often do they update it and bring new features on the table, which is also very important, but we will see.

  • TraceyOct 3,2015 at 8:23 AM

Thanks for the article. FYI, it’s one of the few references to Fusion HQ V2 personally I think the Fusion HQ V2 guys are cowboys and have done a runner. I’ve been trying to access the back end of my landing page at and it’s all empty. Will let you know if any response from their support team.

  • ScottOct 2,2015 at 6:50 AM

When will the Landing Page Monkey review and comparison be coming out? The product is $37 atm… 🙂

I am looking forward to your opinion.

    • Drazen PrastaloOct 2,2015 at 3:46 PM

Hey Scott, you’ll have to wait a bit, I have to cover Unbounce, Profit Builder and LeadPages before I check the monkey 🙂

      • ScottOct 12,2015 at 8:33 AM

        No worries… I moved on 🙂

I am presently looking at Themify – Their Ultra theme has landingpage templates, not many at this stage, but seem to be adding all the time. Their builder is fantastic, and yearly cost are extremely reasonable. They are not on your list for review… Do you have any experience with them?

  • Lloyd HesterSep 25,2015 at 3:57 PM

I have seen many comparison reviews over the years but I can honestly say I have never seen such an in depth and comprehensive review ever!!

This is a great post and very informative.

Maybe to make it complete, you could add wp profit builder to it and maybe one of the free ones that are out there?

    • Drazen PrastaloSep 26,2015 at 10:27 AM

Hey Lloyd, thank you very much 🙂

That was my intention. Most of reviews like this, they always have something missing. I wanted to cover everything 🙂

Yeah absolutely, I see a lot of interest for Profit Builder and it will most certainly be included in this article.

But before I review Profit Builder I will do Unbounce and LeadPages since they got more votes from readers.

Regarding some free builders, can you recommend some good one? Just to be clear, I am not covering general website builders here, this article is strictly for landing page builders, meant for marketers or anyone who wants to promote their products/services with dedicated landing pages.

    Hi Drazen

That’s a very detailed roundup review you have there! Must have invested a lot of time and effort, I’m sure. Awesome work!

Want to clarify a bit about Google fonts for 1MinuteSites. We do have Google fonts available, as seen here:

Thanks again for the review. Much appreciated.

    • Drazen PrastaloJul 3,2015 at 1:24 PM

Hi Welly, thank you very much, I’m glad that you like it 🙂

Just to be clear, you do have SOME Google Fonts available but not all, am I right?

      Thanks again,

  • Marius LazaJul 1,2015 at 3:46 PM

Hi Drazen, Marius from Instapage here.

I just finished watching the video – and I love your article. Thank you for taking the time to create such a detailed review.

A couple of things I would like to point out – we do allow Google Fonts and our team can implement any Google font for you if you don’t have coding experience. We will add an article in our Help Center on how to do this today.

Also, we do offer pop-ups and multi-step forms – that’s a great way to increase your conversions and expand your A/B tests. Perhaps we should make them a bit more intuitive! We will definitely take your lists of “cons” into consideration and see what we can do to improve in those departments as well!

I think your video is a great tool to showcase what Instapage can do and how quickly you can build a professional page.

    • Drazen PrastaloJul 1,2015 at 5:17 PM

      Hi Marius,

Thank you for pointing out the solutions for a few Instapage issues I’ve mentioned in the article. I will point to your comment so that users can see what you have written.

Regarding Google Fonts, I meant something like point and click solution where people could choose the font they want to use easily, without having to implement the code manually.

Thx again for your comment Marius, you are doing a great job with Instapage.

  • BrandonJul 1,2015 at 9:42 AM

I use Beaver Builder. Good post though.

    • Drazen PrastaloJul 1,2015 at 10:28 AM

Hey Brandon, Beaver Builder looks good for WP page building, but it’s not actually built for marketers and it’s missing a lot of features (like A/B testing, opt-in forms, marketing templates etc.) which most online marketers want to use. That’s why I didn’t include it in this article.

      Thanks for your comment.

  • Paul J HindelangJun 30,2015 at 9:14 PM

Great work, Drazen! This is a thorough analysis with constructive, balanced opinion… a helpful resource. I own a number of these products and your assessments line up with my own personal experiences. Each of them has a fit, just need to figure out where/when/how they will be used. Your hard work is an excellent contribution to helping anyone accelerate their decision. I look forward to your continued additions. Your time was well spent and valuable for all of us. Thanks.

    • Drazen PrastaloJun 30,2015 at 10:29 PM

Thanks Paul, that was my intention from the beginning, to create the ultimate source when it comes to landing page builders. I’m glad you enjoyed the article 🙂

  • Louie LucJun 30,2015 at 5:40 PM

    Hey Drazen!!

Awesome, AWESOME job you did here with this post!
I haven’t read all of it just yet, but it’s being quite interesting so far!
Great and important info I was looking for, thanks.

    Keep it up my friend,

    • Drazen PrastaloJun 30,2015 at 6:08 PM

Hi Louie, I’m glad that you like it, thank you 🙂

      All the best Louie,

  • Paul McCarthyJun 30,2015 at 3:02 AM

Holy smokes Drazen, this post is a BEAST (7587 words in case anyone is wondering!!)

One of the most comprehensive posts on the topic that I’ve seen – awesome job! That’s an insane amount of work.

Thanks for the pointers about what you would like to improve – I’ve taken note and will approach with the team this week.

    A few quick things:-

    – We now have 85 templates (we’re adding them all the time so I guess we added some after your review research took place)
    – You can do jump links by using the # key. I’ll raise a task to make this simpler going forward.

    Cheers mate,

    • Drazen PrastaloJun 30,2015 at 3:21 AM

Thx Paul, I appreciate your kind words and I’m very glad that you like the article 🙂

And thanks for the heads up about the Thrive Content Builder, I’ll fix that mistake in the comparison chart.

You just keep up with the good work with the Thrive tools 🙂

Fantastic reviews! I have not learned WordPress yet but it’s in my future. You make it look so easy.
I look forward to what your sharing. I’ve learned much in an afternoon and going to spend some time with Landingi and instapages. Google fonts would be nice but am going to check these two out.
Thanks for the cheat sheet too.
I’m updating websites so not sharing them currently

    • Drazen PrastaloJun 29,2015 at 3:45 PM
